Surry Hills Hotel

A boutique hotel of 121 rooms, in a former warehouse in Sydneys Surry Hills. Conceived as an urban travellers rest within the cultural precinct around Paramount House.

  • The design repurposed heritage items of the old mercantile building and inserts a sculptural new 7-storey hotel, with ground-level retail activating its long laneway, and dramatic lobby volume opening up to Harmony Park.

Breathing life and daylight into the rooms are two landscaped courtyard/lightwells, carved out of the new building. The sculptural new building will complement the industrial fabric of this former rag-trade district. Its form and detailing is a fitting response to the tight laneway conditions, providing privacy to guests and residents.
